A closer look at Bristol, Lawrence hill at the top just out of shot the line to Brislington at the bottom, the line to Bristol harbour heading of to the left, and the blue line coming down from the top show approx where Avonside wharf and Bristol St. Phillips where.

The Portishead line Portishead in the top left and Bristol is just visible in the bottom right.

The Project Goals

This is just a quick one outlining all the routes that I would like to add into this project. The routes already in the project are the original Bristol to Exeter, Bristol to Bath Green Park & Bath Spa and the Portishead Branch. Once these routes are completed the following routes maybe added:

  • The Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway - Unless I can merge the two routes together
  • Bristol to Frome including the Camerton Branch
  • Bournemouth to Templecombe Lower Level
  • Burnham-on-Sea to Evercreech Junction - Including Wells Branch line
  • Bath Spa to Swindon - Possibly including Swindon Works
  • Swindon to Gloucester - Including the Cirencester and Tetbury Branches
  • Bristol to Gloucester via Bristol Parkway & Mangotsfield
  • Frome to Taunton
  • Yatton to Frome via Wells and West Shepton - Including Clevedon Branch
This is a large amount of routes and may not be built into the project.

The Bristol Rail Project: New Beginnings

The Bristol Rail Project

I'm writing to give you trainsim lovers something that I think many of you will enjoy to here I am creating the former rail network that once ran around the city. The project is still in its very early stages But I hope that I can keep it going consistently and keep you guys updated with what's happening. Currently I am using the JT Bristol to Exeter route as the template and changing the track and scenery back to 1950-60's era.

The track I have changed so far is Bristol Temple Meads now has 15 platforms the track for Redcliff and Bristol Harbour have been put into place, Bristol St. Phillips is Back along with St Phillips yard and Barrow Road locomotive shed and Avonside Wharf. Dr. Days and Kingsland Road sidings have been added Lawrence Hill Now has 4 platforms. Also The track to Portishead, Bath Green Park (Via Mangotsfield) and Bath Spa have been laid. here are a couple of pics of what I have created so far.

A Map over of the lines added so far.

A closer Look at the St. Phillips, Dr. Days, Kingsland Road and Avonside Wharf.
